As of October 2026, Kyra's dataset holds 1.39 billion social media accounts, more than 700 million of them creators who have posted, and 7 billion posts across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook. It takes in more than 100 million updates a week, and Kyra's AI runs more than 65 million scans a week. 255 million of those accounts have 1,000 or more followers, the line most creator databases use to count creators.
Every figure below says what it counts. Counts of accounts, creators and people are different numbers, and database sizes are often quoted without saying which one they are.
Accounts and posts
| Count |
|---|
| All accounts | 1.39 billion |
| Creators (accounts that have posted) | 700 million+ |
| 1,000+ followers | 255 million |
| 10,000+ followers | 27.3 million |
| 100,000+ followers | 2.99 million |
| 1 million+ followers | 186,000 |
| Posts | 7 billion |
| Updates a week | 100 million+ |
| AI scans a week | 65 million+ |
Most accounts are small. Of the 1.39 billion, 18% have 1,000 or more followers, 2.0% have 10,000 or more, and about 1 in 7,500 has a million or more.
Accounts are not people
Many creators post on more than one platform, so one creator can have several accounts. Kyra links accounts that belong to the same creator: 36.4 million creators are in that identity graph, and 1.53 million of them are linked on two or more platforms. That link is what lets us follow one creator's work and audience across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook.
How current the data is
A profile is only as good as the last time it was checked. Follower counts change, and accounts are deleted or made private. Of the 255 million accounts with 1,000+ followers, 70.2 million (27%) had their profile collected again in the last 90 days.
The totals above include accounts we haven't checked recently, and some of those will since have been deleted or made private.
Why creator database sizes don't compare
Creator data companies publish the size of their databases, and the numbers range from a few million to over a billion. They mostly measure different things:
- All accounts or creators only. Some count every account they've seen. Others count only accounts above a follower threshold, usually 1,000. In our own data that's the difference between 1.39 billion accounts, 700 million that have posted and 255 million with 1,000+ followers.
- Accounts or people. One creator with a TikTok, an Instagram and a YouTube channel is three accounts but one person.
- Collected or opted in. Most databases are built from public profiles. Some count only creators who signed up to a platform, which is a much smaller and different group.
- Ever seen or recently checked. A total that includes accounts last checked years ago is bigger than one that only counts current profiles.
When you compare two figures, check all four.
Method
- Source: Kyra's social data warehouse, counted on 22 October 2026. Platforms: TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook.
- All accounts: TikTok accounts are counted once each, using each account's most recent profile record. Instagram, YouTube and Facebook count every account record we've collected, so an account collected more than once counts more than once.
- Creators: TikTok accounts whose most recent profile record shows at least one post (755,415,093 on 23 October 2026), rounded down. Instagram, YouTube and Facebook accounts aren't added, so this is a floor.
- Follower bands: TikTok, Instagram and YouTube accounts, each counted once at its most recent profile record. Facebook pages aren't in the bands. An account is in a band if its follower count is at or above the threshold, so the bands overlap: an account with 50,000 followers is counted in the 1,000+ and 10,000+ rows.
- Posts: Kyra's company count of posts across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook, as of 22 October 2026. It isn't a count from the warehouse queries behind the other figures. YouTube posts are videos, including Shorts.
- Updates a week: new posts, post stats snapshots, account stats snapshots and daily medians added to the warehouse, from the rows added on 20 October 2026 (about 16 million that day), times seven, rounded down.
- AI scans a week: TikTok videos whose frames and audio Kyra's AI model turned into a searchable video embedding, at the peak daily rate (9,391,436 videos on 18 October 2026) times seven, rounded down. Caption embeddings aren't counted, so each video counts once.
- Creators linked across platforms: creators in Kyra's identity graph with accounts on two or more of TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook. Removed links are excluded.
- Recently collected: the profile was collected again in the 90 days to 22 October 2026.
- Rounding: counts are rounded down; percentages are rounded to the nearest whole number (or to one decimal place below 10%).
